Iron Craft Challenge #11 - Alphabet Soup

Desta vez o tema foram letras e palavras. Estas duas semanas foram bastante ocupadas para nos, mas ainda consegui fazer duas letras em crochet. Sao as iniciais dos meus filhotes. Os esquemas sao do livro " 201 Crochet motifs, blocks, projects and ideas" de Melody Griffiths; usei novelo Lion Brand Wool-Ease Worsted na cor Paprika e agulha tamanho G/6 (4.25 mm).

This time our theme were letters and words. These past two weeks were so busy for us, but I still managed to make two crocheted letters. They're my kids' initials. The patterns are from the book "201 Crochet motifs, blocks, projects and ideas" by Melody Griffiths; I used Lion Brand Wool-Ease Worsted yarn in Paprika and hook size G/6 (4.25 mm).

Pontos de bordado, de costura ou quaisquer outros foram o tema. Eu encontrei recentemente online uma pequena amostra com esquemas gratis de "The Making Spot". Gostei de todos e fiz um que podera vir a ser aplicado a qualquer coisa, ainda nao decidi bem o que. :)
Usei tela 28, tipo linho, linha DMC e agulha.

Stitches of all kinds were the theme. I recently found online a small free sampler, from "The Making Spot" and I liked all the patterns. I picked to stitch and it will most likely end up being sewn onto something else, not sure what yet. :)
I used 28 count canvas, DMC thread and needle.

Iron Craft Challenge #9 - Think Inside The Box

Desta vez, tinhamos que fazer algo utilizando uma caixa. Eu decidi-me por decorar uma simples caixa de cartao para guardar botoes. Usei uma cilindrica de compra, cola, fita preta, papel decorativo, letras autocolantes e um botao grande.

This time we had to craft something using a box. I decided to decorate a simple one to keep my buttons. I used a store bought cylindrical cardboard box, glue, black ribbon, decorative paper, letter stickers and a large button.

O mes de Abril passou a correr e nao consegui acabar todos os projectos que tinha para o torneio. Aqui ficam os que terminei.

The month of April flew by and I was not able to finish all the projects for the tournament. Here are the ones I managed to do.

Iron Craft Challenge #8 - Love Your Mother... Earth!

Esta semana tinhamos que utlizar algo que normalmente deitariamos fora. Eu tinha dois pequenos pedacos, sensivelmente do mesmo tamanho, que me restaram do projecto que fiz, em que transformei uma camisola em cachecol. E assim, aproveitei e fiz uma pequena bolsa. Usei um fecho que ja tinha. De resto, foi so agulha e linha.

This week we had to use something we would normally throw away. I had two pieces, roughly the same size, leftover from my sweater to scarf project, that I hadn't wanted to get rid off. So I decided to turn them into a little pouch. I used a zipper I already had and just needle and thread.

Iron Craft Challenge #7 - Freshen Up

Esta semana o tema focou-se em fazer algo para alegrar a casa. Eu queria fazer algo colorido. A inspiracao demorou a chegar, mas depois la me decidi por mais uma base para pratos. Usei feltro em tons de rosa que cortei em tiras, depois entrelacei-as em estilo tafeta e cosi a toda a volta para as manter no sitio.

This week the challenge was to make something to freshen up our homes. I wanted to make something colorful but inspiration was evading me. Finally I decided to make yet another base for a dish or platter. I used two felt sheets that I cut into strips, then I wove them and sewn all around to keep them in place.

Nerd Wars - T4 - March - Challenge Intellectual: To Art Its Freedom

O meu ultimo projecto para esta fase. Um aquece-pescocos rendado feito com um novelo Ella Rae Lace Merino em tons de azul, inspirado pelo quadro de Klimt "Friedericke Maria Beer-Monti". O esquema, "Seascape Stole" e de Kieran Foley; agulhas tamanho 4 US (3.5 mm).

My last project for this leg of the tournament. A lacy neck warmer made with Ella Rae Lace Merino yarn in blue tones, inspired by Klimt's painting "Friedericke Maria Beer-Monti". The pattern "Seascape Stole" is by Kieran Foley; needles size 4 US (3.5 mm).

Iron Craft Challenge #6 - Peeps!

Esta semana vimos voltar o tema Peeps, os tais marshmallows cobertos de acucar colorido que se vendem aqui por altura da Pascoa. Encontrei um esquema, "PEEP Bunny" de Karin Netland" para fazer um Peep tricotado, e adaptei para fazer uma base para travessas ou decoracao. Tricotei apenas um dos lados do coelho. Usei novelo Lion Brand Jiffy na cor Shocking Pink e agulhas tamanho 8 US (5.0 mm). Um pouco de la preta para bordar os olhos e nariz.

This week we saw the return of the Peep theme. I found a pattern, "PEEP Bunny" by Karin Netland for a knitted peep and adjusted to make a base for serve ware or decoration. I only knitted one f the sides of the bunny. I used Lion Brand Jiffy yarn in Shocking Pink and needles size 8 US (5.0 mm). A little bit of black wool to add the eyes and nose.

Um Passeio Pelo Parque ~ A Stroll Through the Park

Ontem esteve um dia bonito e ameno. Fizemos um piquenique e fomos dar um passeio.

Yesterday was a very nice and comfortable day. We had a picnic and went for a walk.
