Iron Craft Challenge # 24 - White

A cor branca foi o tema proposto. Eu decidi-me por este bonequinho, que e um urso polar com uma bolsa e uma cria. Fiz seguindo as instruccoes para o Polar-Roo do livro "Felties" de Nelly Pailloux. Usei feltro em branco, cola, agulha e linha.

The color white was the theme this time. I made a little softie, he's a polar bear with a pouch and a little cub. The instructions for the "Polar-Roo" are from the book "Felties" by Nelly Pailloux. I used white felt in white, glue, needle and thread.

Iron Craft Challenge # 23 - Let The Holiday Madness Begin

As Festas que se aproximam foram o tema proposto. Eu nao sou muito de fazer muitos projectos alusivos, mas em honra do solisticio de Inverno que se aproxima fiz estas bolachas em forma de floco de neve. A receita veio de um blogue, mas de momento nao consigo encontrar o link! Assim que encontro actualizo a informacao.

The upcoming holiday season was the theme. I don't do holiday crafts much but in honor of the Winter solstice I made these snowflake cookies. The recipe is from a blog I can't find the link to! As soon as I do I'll update my post.

Iron Craft Challenge #22 - UFOs

Eu comecei esta camisola em Janeiro deste ano e acabei-a finalmente, mesmo a tempo para o frio! Ja so me faltava parte de uma manga, mas como estava a ser feita em quatro agulhas, visto que nao tem costuras, leva-me sempre mais tempo a completar.

I started this sweater in January of this years and I finally finished just in time for cold weather! I only had part of one sleeve left, but since it was on 4 double-pointed needles because it's seamless, it always takes me a bit longer to complete.

O esquema, Basket Yoke Pullover, e de Wendy Bernard e foi publicado na revista Knit. Wear Premier 2011. Usei novelos Berroco Ultra Alpaca em Dark Heather Red, e agulhas tamanho 6 (4.0 mm) e 7 (4.5 mm) US.

The pattern, Basket Yoke Pullover, is by Wendy Bernard and was published in the magazine Knit. Wear Premier 2011. I used Berroco Ultra Alpaca yarn in Dark Heather Red and needles size 6 (4.0 mm) and 7 (4.5 mm) US.

Iron Craft Challenge #21 - Felt

Feltro foi o tema proposto.
Este tema foi muito apropriado, porque o meu filhote mais novo pediu que lhe fizesse um disfarce para o Halloween que se aproxima. Ele quer ser um "nyan cat" (ver video abaixo, as imagens falam por si!). Era para fazer tambem uma mascara, mas ainda na decidi se a vou fazer tambem em feltro, como tinha planeado, ou se vou usar outros materiais.
Usei feltro em bege e branco, tecido as riscas coloridas, velcro autocolante, missangas de plastico, linha, agulha e maquina de costura.

Felt was the theme for this challenge.
It was a very appropriate theme for me because my youngest asked me to make him a costume for Halloween. He want to be "nyan cat" (see video below, the images speak for themselves!). I was going to make a mask using the felt also, but I'm thinking of using other materials for it.
I used light brown and white felt, fabric, adhesive velcro, plastic beads, thread, needle and sewing machine.

Fomos hoje ver este filme. Os miudos gostaram muito e eu tambem. :)

Iron Craft Challenge #20 - Edible Crafts

Para este desafio eu pensei em decorar um bolo, mas depois acabei por experimentar estes "s'mores" rapidos. Um marshmallow coberto com chocolate, e depois coberto com migalhas de bolacha.

For this challenge at first I had plans to decorate a cake, but then I ended up trying these quick s'mores. A marshmallow dipped in melted chocolate and then dipped into graham cracker crumbs.

Iron Craft Challenge #19 - Fall Colors

Com as cores do Outono como tema, encontrei este tecido com folhas em tons de laranja, e decidi fazer uma bolsa. As instrucoes vieram do blog blissful by quenna. Usei o tecido, entertela, uma mola de metal e um botao decorativo.

With fall colors as a theme, I found this fabric with leaves in shades of orange and decided to make a small purse. The tutorial is from the blog "blissful by quenna". I used the fabric, interfacing, a metal snap and a decorative button.

Iron Craft Challenge #18 - All For Me

A atencao desta vez esteve centrada em nos. Seria logico pensar que seria facil decidir o que fazer para mim, mas nao. Levou-me mais de uma semana, mas depois la me lembrei de um esquema de tricot que tinha na minha lista no Ravelry para fazer uma bolsa para o telemovel. O esquema, porem, e em Norugues e a versao em Ingles ainda nao foi publicada. Andei a perguntar e tive sorte, uma amiga de uma amiga fez-me o grande favor de traduzir. O esquema gratis e de Silje Camelie; fiz com novelo Knit Picks Comfy Sport na cor Pomegranate e agulhas de duas pontas tamanho 5 US (3.75 mm).

For this challenge the attention was on ourselves. You would think it would an be easy one since I had to make something for myself, but no. It took me over a week to decide but then I remembered a knitting pattern I had on my Ravelry queue to make a phone sock. The pattern, however, is in Norwegian and the English version is not published yet. I asked around and was lucky to find a friend of a friend who was very kind and translated it for me. The free pattern in by Silje Camelie; made with Knit Picks Comfy Sport yarn and double pointed needles size 5 US (3.75mm).

Iron Craft Challenge #17 - Hardware Store

O tema sugerido desta vez foram materiais que podem ser encntrados numa drogaria ou loja de ferragens e bricolage. Eu sempre gostei muito das cores de fio de pedreiro que aqui vendem, e assim decidi usar uma rolo na cor laranja.

The theme this time were materials found in a hardware store. I've always liked  the colors of the twisted mason line so I decided to use a roll in orange.

Ainda levei um tempo a decidir o que fazer, mas acabei por fazer um rectangulo longo em crochet. Usei uma agulha tamanho G/6 (4.25 mm).

It took me a while deciding what to make but I ended up crocheting a long rectangle. I used a hook size G/6 (4.25 mm).

E a seguir dobrei em tres e fiz um esfregao que nao e abrasivo.

And then I folded it in three parts and made a scrubbie that is not abrasive.
