Nerd Wars - T4 - March - Challenge Intellectual: To Art Its Freedom

O meu ultimo projecto para esta fase. Um aquece-pescocos rendado feito com um novelo Ella Rae Lace Merino em tons de azul, inspirado pelo quadro de Klimt "Friedericke Maria Beer-Monti". O esquema, "Seascape Stole" e de Kieran Foley; agulhas tamanho 4 US (3.5 mm).

My last project for this leg of the tournament. A lacy neck warmer made with Ella Rae Lace Merino yarn in blue tones, inspired by Klimt's painting "Friedericke Maria Beer-Monti". The pattern "Seascape Stole" is by Kieran Foley; needles size 4 US (3.5 mm).

Iron Craft Challenge #6 - Peeps!

Esta semana vimos voltar o tema Peeps, os tais marshmallows cobertos de acucar colorido que se vendem aqui por altura da Pascoa. Encontrei um esquema, "PEEP Bunny" de Karin Netland" para fazer um Peep tricotado, e adaptei para fazer uma base para travessas ou decoracao. Tricotei apenas um dos lados do coelho. Usei novelo Lion Brand Jiffy na cor Shocking Pink e agulhas tamanho 8 US (5.0 mm). Um pouco de la preta para bordar os olhos e nariz.

This week we saw the return of the Peep theme. I found a pattern, "PEEP Bunny" by Karin Netland for a knitted peep and adjusted to make a base for serve ware or decoration. I only knitted one f the sides of the bunny. I used Lion Brand Jiffy yarn in Shocking Pink and needles size 8 US (5.0 mm). A little bit of black wool to add the eyes and nose.

Ontem esteve um dia bonito e ameno. Fizemos um piquenique e fomos dar um passeio.

Nerd Wars - T4 - March - Challenge Scientific: Differences Matter

A materia em todos os seus estados e o tema. Escolhi a forma evaporada da agua e fiz esta "nuvem" para cobrir um bule. O esquema e de  mwater designs. Feita com um novelo pom-pom Red Heart Spark-a-Doodle (que achei um pouco dificil de trabalhar) e agulhas tamanho 8 US (5.0 mm).

Matter in all its states is what this challenge is about. I chose the evaporated state of water and made this "cloud" to be a tea pot cozy. The pattern is by mwater designs. Made with Red Heart Spark-a-Doodle pom pom yarn (that I found a bit tricky to work with) and needles size 8 US (5.0 mm).

I found this recipe from the blog "Simply Good" on Pinterest. A recipe and method to make crusty bread that seemed  so easy I just had to try it. I followed the instructions to the letter and it turned out perfect!

A regra para esta categoria e usar restos de novelos. Assim, usei uma pequena quantidade de Patons Classic Wool Merino em branco e fiz uma cabeca de alhos. O esquema e do livro "Amigurumi Knits" de Hansi Singh; agulhas tamanho 4 US (3.5 mm).

The rule for this challenge is to use leftover yarn. So I used a small amount of Patons Classic Wool Merino in white and made a head or garlic. The pattern is from the book "Amigurumi Knits" by Hansi Singh; needles size 4 US (3.5 mm).

Um golfinho, inspirado pela personagem a que Ricky Gervais deu a voz na serie animada "Family Guy". Usei novelo Lion Brand Vanna's Choice Solids na cor Sapphire; agulhas tamanho 6 US (4.0 mm).  O esquema e do livro "World of Knitted Toys" de Kath Dalmeny.

Uma cenoura inspirada pelos desenhos animados "Road Runner". O esquema e de Hansi Singh do livro "Amigurumi Knits". Usei novelos Patons Classic Wool em laranja e verde; agulhas tamanho 6 US (4.0 mm).

Iron Craft Challenge #5 - Hey Buddy, Can You Spare a Dollar?

Esta semana o desafio foi fazer algo com materiais que se encontrem nas lojas tipo "dos trezentos".  La fui e, depois de zanzar por alguns minutos, encontrei uma seccao de meias. E na ala dos materiais escolares encontrei um saquinho de olhos para bonecos.

This week the challenge was to craft something from materials found at a dollar store. I went and after some isle wandering I found a section of socks. And by the school supplies I found some googly eyes.

A minha intencao era fazer um boneco. Comecei sem plano especifico e nem cheguei a usar os olhos, preferi bordar os detalhes com la preta. Usei apenas uma das meias, tesoura, agulha e linha. E pronto, ficou assim. E um... gato.... ou talvez um coelho. :)

My intention was to make a critter. I started with no specific plan and I then decided to not use the eyes but to embroider the details using black yarn. I only used one of the socks, scissors, needle and thread. And this is the outcome. It's a.... cat .... or maybe a bunny. :)
